FREELAND, Mich.--Third baseman Matt Andrus of the Adrian College baseball team has been named the final Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Player of the Week for the 2016 campaign, the MIAA announced on Tuesday.
The Auburn Hills Avondale High School product from Troy carried the Adrian offense with a .500/.545/.850 slashline, two home runs and 10 runs batted in, as the Bulldogs ended the regular season with a 4-1 record versus MIAA teams and won the conference title outright.
Andrus had multiple hits in the three games and at least three RBI in three of the five contests. He hit his first home run of the season versus tourney-bound Hope (May 6) that put Adrian in the lead for good during a 10-5 win.
