GREENSBORO, N.C.--Adrian College made its season debut in the American Baseball Coaches Association/Collegiate Baseball Newspaper NCAA Division III national rankings on Tuesday, receiving 37 points in the slot for 29th as the only Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association member receiving votes.
Adrian received votes in the first ABCA/CBN poll of March 14, but none until today. The Bulldogs are one of the biggest movers in the national rankings this week.
Aside from a preseason ranking to begin the spring, Adrian's last appearance in the ABCA/CBN Division III poll came on March 17, 2015, when the 'Dogs checked in at No. 30 (with 46 points).
The Bulldogs have reeled off a season's best nine-game winning streak to improve to 17-6, including 11-1 for first place in the MIAA standings. That marks the longest since the 2012 squad won 14 in a row from April 12 to May 4 en route to a school-record 37-10 campaign. During the current win streak, AC has outscored opponents 72 to 18.
On the season, Adrian is averaging 7.48 runs, batting .343, slugging .467 and the pitching staff has compiled a 2.80 earned-run average.
