MOUNT BERRY, Ga.--Marietta College scored four times in the top of the third inning to erase an early deficit on the way to a 5-3 comeback victory Sunday over Adrian College in a non-conference baseball game on the campus of Berry College.

= Senior Frank Resto was 2-for-4 with two runs batted in.
= Classmate Hunter Hayes also had two hits, including a double, in five at-bats.
= Freshman Sean O'Keefe had a single and two walks in his AC debut at shortstop.
= Brady Cottom had two of Marietta's five hits.
= Michael Barnabei contributed a double. He also got a four-inning save in which he blanked AC's offense on three hits. He struck out three and walked two.
= Chris Petrucci knocked in two runs on a single and groundout.
= Dalton Wiggins (W, 1-0) got the win after pitching five innings while allowing three runs (2 earned), four hits and three walks. He had four strikeouts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
= For the second straight day, Adrian took a 2-0 lead against its opponent. Resto singled in the bottom of the second inning to score junior Dugan Darnell and Hayes. Sophomore Tristin Richardson sacrificed both runners after Darnell and Hayes hit back-to-back singles.
= But in Marietta's next at-bat, the Pioneers scored four runs on four hits, an error and a walk. Petrucci tied it 2-2 on a RBI-single through the left side. Three batters later, Shane Fetsko singled to third base to plate Petrucci and Mike Hale scored on a throwing error--giving Marietta a 4-2 lead.
= The Pioneers gave an unearned run back to Adrian in the fifth. Freshman Sean O'Keefe led off with a single up the middle in his first career AC at-bat, advanced to second base on a passed ball and came around to score on a dropped flyball to center off the bat of Hayes. The Bulldogs cut the deficit to 4-3.
= Marietta rounded out the scoring in the seventh when Petrucci had a RBI-groundout, making the final score 5-3.
= Adrian stranded a season-high 10 runners on base; Marietta left three.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
= Marietta leads the all-time series 7-2. The Bulldogs won 9-2 last season at the 2017 Snowbird Collegiate Baseball Classic.
= Adrian will be idle next week to prepare for another trip down South--this time traveling to Port Charlotte, Fla., for the Snowbird Collegiate Baseball Classic from Friday, March 16 to Sunday, March 18. The Bulldogs will play Keystone, Denison and North Central-Ill.
