2018 D3baseball.com All-Americans l ABCA All-Region Teams

ADRIAN, Mich.--D3baseball.com Mideast Pitcher of the Year Tommy Parsons (New Albany, Ohio) headlines Adrian College on that organization's all-America squad as the senior standout was named Wednesday to the second team. In addition, classmate Hunter Hayes (Adrian High School) made D3baseball All-America Honorable Mention as a first baseman.

A three-time Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Pitcher of the Year, Parsons repeats his D3baseball.com All-America status as he was third team in 2017. He posted an 11-0 mark with one save while leading the MIAA in earned-run average (1.72), victories, strikeouts (109), shutouts (2), complete games (10) and innings pitched (94.0). Opponents hit just .232 against him. Among NCAA Division III leaders, Parsons is first in complete games, third in strikeout-to-walks ratio (15.57), fifth in strikeouts and walks allowed per 9 innings (0.67), 21st in WHIP (0.95) and 32nd in ERA. He has been on D3baseball's all-region first team for the three consecutive years.

The business management graduate is the NCAA all-Divisions active career leader with 40 wins against only four losses, including a personal 23-game winning streak. Among current Division III all-time leaders, Parsons is first in complete games (24), second with seven shutouts and fourth with 288 strikeouts.

Parsons also is on the national ballot for Google Cloud Academic All-America® consideration from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Hayes, too, enjoyed a career year that included MIAA-topping eight home runs, 18 doubles, 56 runs batted in and .617 slugging percentage while batting a personal-best .351. He became the 37th member of the AC 100-hit club in the second game of a twinbill at Albion College on April 22. The exercise science major tied a school record with five hits in a game (Trine on April 27) and tied the program's RBI record for a season (shared with Ryan Dorow, a current farmhand of the Texas Rangers). On the national scene, he ranks 21st in RBI, 27th in total bases (116) and 31st in doubles. Hayes also was D3baseball All-Mideast Region First Team earlier this week.

The American Baseball Coaches Association has selected Parsons to the ABCA/Rawlings Mideast All-Region First Team and freshman pitcher Jordan Williams (Westland, Mich. /Lutheran Westland HS) and Hayes to the second unit. Parsons also is the ABCA Pitcher of the Year in the Mideast Region.

A second-team D3baseball all-region pick, Williams formed a formidable 1-2 duo with Parsons for the 'Dogs on the mound after going 8-1 (MIAA T-2nd) with three saves (MIAA T-2nd) and a 2.07 ERA (MIAA 3rd) in his debut season. He compiled 66 strikeouts (MIAA T-3rd) in 74 innings of work (MIAA 3rd). Opponents hit just .228 against the business administration major. He picked up his first career victory March 2 at nationally regarded Emory in his Adrian debut, allowing two earned runs with five strikeouts in six innings of work. Nationally, he is 31st in victories and 62nd in ERA. During the NCAA Mideast Regional against nationally-ranked La Roche, he threw a scoreless inning to save a Bulldogs 1-0 win to help keep the team in the winners' bracket until the scheduled next-to-last day.

Both Hayes and Williams also joined Parsons as All-MIAA first teamers.
