FREELAND, Mich.--Adrian College men's basketball senior Christian Covile was named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Associationg (MIAA) men's basketball Player of the Week.
Covile started the season by recording two double-doubles and propelling the Bulldogs to a 2-0 start and winning the Carthage Classic.
The first contest was against NAIA opponent Robert Morris-Peoria where Covile scored 30 points and grabbed 11 boards in the 105-76 victory.
During the championship game against host Carthage, Covile tallied another 24 points and snagged 13 rebounds to give the Bulldogs a 79-69 decision that crowned them the Carthage Classic Champions and made Covile the obvious choice for the tournaments' Most Valuable Player.
This is the first time in Covile's career that he is named the MIAA Player of the Week.
