Bulldogs Fall 70-61 to Titans in the First Day of the Trine Classic

ANGOLA, Ind. – The Adrian College men's basketball team fell to Wisc.-Oshkosh 70-61 in the first day of the Trine Classic.

The Titans jumped out to an early 7-0 lead in the first half before the Bulldogs would go on a 19-0 run to take an early double digit lead. The lead would stay in the double digits into the second part of the first half when Wisc.-Oshkosh would cut the lead to nine with just under seven minutes left before halftime. Adrian would go into the half with a seven point lead, 33-26.

The Titans would claw their way back and take their first lead since the beginning of the game when Max Schebel was fouled during a layup and made the and-one to put the score at 43-42. The score would stay close for the remainder of the half until Wisc.-Oshkosh pulled away in the final five minutes of the game.

DaVonte Harris led the Bulldog offense by scoring 16 points. Christian Covile also contributed 15 points in the losing effort. Harris and Covile also led the team with six rebounds.

The Bulldogs shot 25-53 (47.2%) from the floor, 5-12 (41.7%) from three point line and 6-13 (46.2%) from the free throw line. The Titans shot 24-50 (48%) from the floor, 4-10 (40%) from the three point line and 18-25 (72%) from the free throw line.

Wisc.-Oshkosh edged Adrian 32-30 in rebounds.

The Bulldogs will play Milligan tomorrow at 1 p.m., for the second day of the Trine Classic.
