DEARBORN, Mich.--The Adrian College men's basketball team closed 2015 with a convincing 76-58 road victory over NAIA Michigan-Dearborn at the UMD Fieldhouse on Wednesday evening.

Senior Christian Covile led all scorers with 20 points in just 24 minutes for Adrian, which shot 45.5 percent from the field (30-66) and held UMD to just a 31.0 (18-58) clip. Junior DaVonte Harris added 15 points, a team-leading six rebounds and dished a game-best seven assists.

For the Wolverines, Anthony Barley netted 17 points, followed by Xavier Crofford with 14 and Jason Penn, 12.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 16-10 advantage before a 3-pointer by Crofford gave the Wolverines their only lead at 22-20 with 9 minutes and 36 seconds left in the first half. Adrian outscored UMD 21-8 the rest of the way to go up 41-30 at halftime.

In the second half, Adrian built as much as a 28-point cushion as the Wolverines could not get within single digits.

The Bulldogs also won the battle of the boards, 48-36, and used their depth as the bench outscored UMD's 39 to 7.

Adrian improves to 7-4 on the season, completing its non-league schedule before opening Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play on Wednesday, Jan. 6, at home versus Olivet in its next outing. UMD--out of the scholarship Wolverine–Hoosier Athletic Conference--drops to 7-8.
