ANGOLA, Ind. – Christian Covile and Rickey Jackson, Jr. led the offense with 16 points each in the 69-55 loss to MIAA foe Trine. The loss is the second straight on the road in conference play and a 1-2 start in the conference for Adrian.

Similar to the game last Saturday at Alma, the Bulldogs kept the score close the majority of the game. The lead would change numerous times in the first half with both teams being tied at 26 going into halftime.

The start of the second half went much like the first half, with both teams trading leads. The score was tied at 37 all with 14:18 left in the second half when the Thunder would start to pull away from the Bulldogs. Adrian would keep the Trine lead within five points as time wound down in the game. The Thunder would finally build a double digit lead with 4:22 left in the game and they wouldn't look back. Adrian would be forced to play catch up with time working against them. The Bulldogs would intentional foul and Trine protected the lead by making their free throws (shot 21-24, 87.5%).

The Thunder edged the Bulldogs in rebounds, 41-35. They also shot 40% from the floor versus the Bulldogs 32.8%. Adrian shot better from the three point line with 41.2%. Trine shot 35.4% from three. The Bulldogs struggled from the free throw line, going 10-for-19, 52.6%.

Adrian will continue MIAA play when they host the Britons of Albion College this Saturday, January 16. The opening tip is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
