HOLLAND, Mich. – The Adrian College men's basketball team dropped its second straight road game on Saturday night, losing to Hope 94-71. Christian Covile led the Bulldog offense by scoring 25 points. He also contributed nine rebounds, two assists and two blocks.
Anthony Cannon also had a big game, scoring 18 points, hauled in four rebounds and dishing two assists.
Adrian had its largest lead of the game (two points) just 40 seconds into the first half. The game saw three ties and three lead changes (all happened in the first four minutes). Hope grabbed the lead with 15:49 left in the first half and wouldn't relinquish it for the rest of the game.
The Dutchmen would attain the largest lead of the game, 26 points, with 2:54 left in the game.
The Bulldogs shot the ball well, going 27-of-64 (42.2%) from the floor and 9-of-26 (34.6%) from behind the arc. Hope went 31-of-57 (54.4%) from the floor and 7-of-15 (46.7%) from the three-point line.
Hope edged Adrian in rebounds, 38-32. The Dutchmen recorded 14 assists, Adrian tallied eight assists.
The Bulldogs travel to Grand Rapids, Michigan to face Calvin (8:00 p.m.). It's the final road game of the regular season.
