Men's Basketball Draws Hope in MIAA Tournament

FREELAND, MICH. - The Adrian College men's basketball team is set to face Hope on Friday, February 23 in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) semifinal round. The game is scheduled for a 5:00 p.m., tip-off at Olivet, Michigan.

The teams split the regular season matchups with the home team winning each game. The Bulldogs won in Adrian 74-63 on January 13; the Flying Dutchmen were victorious in Holland 95-77 earlier this month. 

The Bulldogs finished the regular season with an overall record of 17-8 and a conference record of 8-6. Adrian used a 10-game winning streak that began on December 8, 2017 and ended on January 17, 2018.

Justin Webster leads Adrian scoring 19.0 points per game (5th MIAA) and 9.4 rebounds per game (2nd MIAA). His 56.0 field goal percentage is currently fourth in the conference. Teammate Jeremy Kalonji is currently second in the league in three-point percentage with 44.2.

Hope finished the year with an overall record of 16-9 and a conference mark of 10-4. Jason Beckman leads the Flying Dutchmen with 21.8 points per game (2nd MIAA). He is also fourth in three-point shooting percentage with 43.7. Teammates Teddy Ray (6.8 RPG, 5th MIAA) and Preston Granger (61.6% FG, 3rd MIAA) also lead Hope.
