ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College men's basketball fell at home to Calvin 79-53 to start the second half of Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play on Saturday, Jan. 26.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first half was close until Calvin went on a 13-4 run to open the game up. The Bulldogs couldn't recover from that run and trailed 49-28 after 20 minutes. Junior forward Jeremy Kalonji had half of Adrian's points, scoring 14 for the third straight half. The Knights were shooting lights out in the first half, shooting 60% from the floor and 53.3% from deep. AC shot 36.8% from the floor but shot 37.5% from behind the arc.
Despite a better defensive effort from the Bulldogs, Calvin extended its lead in the second half, leading by as many as 33 points. Adrian was able to claw a few points back at the end, losing to the Knights 79-53. The Black and Gold held Calvin to 39.4% shooting in the second half and only allowed one three-pointer against. The Knights controlled to boards once again, outrebounding Adrian 40-22, including 18 offensive rebounds. Calvin's bench also played a key role in the game, finishing with 42 of its 79 points.
• Kalonji had a game-high 19 points before fouling out with nine minutes remaining
• Sophomore guard Jordan Harris was second on the team in scoring with 16 points and led the team in assists (3) and steals (4).
• Thad Shymanski led Calvin's offense with 16 points.
• Jason Walter collected nine rebounds and added nine points.
The Bulldogs head on the road on Wednesday, Jan. 30 for a rematch with Albion. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
