ADRIAN, Mich.--The Bulldogs men's bowling team turned in an impressive home debut at the Adrian College Open at the Lenawee Recreation Bowling Center over the weekend. Adrian knocked down 6,425 total pins for a third-place finish in the 10-team field.
Junior Mike Jachcinski paced Adrian with a four-game score of 713, or a 178.25 average, which was good for 16th overall out of 66 individuals. Also finishing in the upper-half were sophomores Kody Wood in 29th place with a 560 (186.67) and Josh VanCampen in 32nd (534, 178).
"We made vast improvement through the entire week of practice and during the tournament," Adrian coach John Essenmacher III said. "Finishing third is a great step forward over the past two weeks. I am looking forward to watching this team bowl and grow throughout the year."
Bowling Green and Toledo were the top-two teams with 6,823 and 6,808, respectively. Brandon Lowe of the team champion Falcons was the top individual with a 212.75 average.
The Bulldogs return to the lanes on Saturday and Sunday at the Raider Classic in Dayton, Ohio.
