CENTERVILLE, Ohio -- The Adrian College men's bowling team opened the month of October over the weekend at the University of Pikeville Orange & Black Classic at Poelking Lanes South. The Bulldogs had a total pin fall of 7,081 to finish 18th out of 26 schools on Sunday, coming ahead of Division I programs Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Indiana State and Miami-Ohio.
Adrian had a terrific start with a 929 after the first game, which was good for eighth place. The Bulldogs' best round was a 969 in the fourth.
The host Bears came in 12th with a 7,412 team score. Calumet qualified first with a score of 8,134, and Morehead State was the last team to earn a No. 8 spot in the bracket round with a score of 7,683. Individually, Lindenwood's Michael Coffee led all bowlers with a score of 1,094.
The Bulldogs return to the lanes on Saturday at the Siena Heights University Halo Invitational at Ten-Pin Alley in Tecumseh, Mich.
