Travis Rubingh '12 enters his seventh season on the football coaching staff at Adrian College, returning to coaching the team's defensive line personnel. He also serves as the Bulldogs' defensive coordinator. Previously, he handled the duties of inside linebackers coach.


  • Tutored a very talented defensive line in 2013 that helped the defense rank first in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association in sacks (29). They also ranked first in total defense at 282.4 yards per game.
  • In 2014, Rubingh helped coach the MIAA's best defense as the line led the MIAA in sacks (32), and helped the team shut down opponents in both the red zone (60%) and on third down (21.2%) to top the conference in both categories.
  • The 2016 Bulldogs were second in the conference with 31 sacks, led by three-time all-league pick Damon Fuller who had a MIAA-leading 11-1/2.  
  • Assisted in two MIAA championships between 2012 and 2014 that led to NCAA Division III Football Championship appearances.
  • Fuller ended his career as the school's career leader with 69 tackles for loss, 362 TFL yardage, 268 yards on sacks and No. 2 with 38 total sacks. His 217 total tackles are on the fringe of the school's Top-10 list.


  • Coached second-team 2014 All-MIAA defensive linemen senior Jack Carter and freshman Fuller onto the first and second teams, respectively.
  • In 2015, Fuller (First Team) and junior Zach Rieger (Second Team) made All-MIAA. In addition, Fuller earned a spot on the last National Team of the Week of the season.
  • The 2017 campaign saw Fuller selected to the All-MIAA for a fourth time overall and two-time repeat first-team player.


  • Rubingh has a bachelor’s degree in social studies with a focus in secondary education from Adrian, graduating in 2012.
  • Concluded his playing career as a Bulldog in 2011, appearing in five games as a senior with one tackle.
  • He played in nine games as a junior in 2010 to earn his first varsity letter
  • 2015 Academic All-MIAA.


  • Born in Muskegon, Mich.
  • Prepped at Grass Lake High School. He was named all-conference and -area in football in 2007.
