LOCKBOURNE, Ohio - The men's golf team competed admirably over the weekend at the Purple and White Invitational hosted by Capital University. The team finished second out of 16 teams with a score of 627 (306-321). The day one conditions were much more favorable and the team gutted out their performance on Saturday finishing 13 strokes behind first-place Malone University.
Senior Jordan Kelly had a wonderful two days shooting a 152 which tied for third place. He tied for the best round on Saturday with a +2 (74) and shot 78 in the opening round. Mac Boucher tied for seventh with a two-day total of 156. He shot a team-best +1 (73) on Friday and struggled to an 83 on Saturday.
Sterling Emery placed 13th with a score of 159 having shot +3 (75) on Friday. Tyler Manning finished tied for 16th with a 163. He actually fared better with an 80 in the adverse conditions on Saturday. Brad Haley also competed and shot 169 which was good for a tie in 31st place.
