BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – Striving for first-place in the overall standings, the Adrian College men's golf team finished in second-place at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree #3 at the Bedford Valley Country Club. The event was hosted by Olivet College.
Sophomore Mac Boucher earned a first-place finish with a career-best 71 (36, 35).
The Bulldogs posted a 303 team score, which were four strokes behind the team champion Hope. Olivet was third at 310 followed by Alma at 312 for fourth-place. Rounding out the finishers were Albion and Calvin who tied in fifth at 316 strokes, Trine in seventh at 318 and Kalamazoo in eighth at 328.
Following Boucher for Adrian was freshman Karter Clark at 74 (37, 37) who finished third. Clark's score marks his career-high in a round, while shaving four strokes from his previous best.
Alma continues to lead the overall standings with a three-round total of 928 strokes. Adrian is second with 932, followed by Hope, 934.
The Bulldogs will now be off until next Tuesday, Sept. 20, when they play in the fourth league jamboree at the Milham Park Golf Course in Kalamazoo.
