WEST OLIVE, Mich. – The men's golf team had a rough first round last week in the first round of the MIAA Spring Invitational with a berth in the NCAA Tournament on the line for the winner. The Bulldogs really put themselves in a tough situation after 18 holes, but really came back strong on Friday and Saturday shooting 306 and 311 to finish second over the last 36 holes just three strokes behind champion Hope College.
The Bulldogs shot 936 for the 54-hole tournament as Hope was 919 followed by Trine with 934. Calvin placed fourth with a stroke total of 950. Connor Doria won top honors over the last 36 holes with a 142 shooting even par. Cam McKee tied for eighth overall with a 156. Nick Hocker placed 11th overall with a 157. Jordan Pittman placed 14th with a score of 162.
