KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The men's golf team needed to make a move after sitting in fourth place after the first three MIAA Jamboree's of the season. They did just that on Monday (Sept. 22) firing a 298 and placing second just one stroke back of Trine University for the top spot. It was the best finish so far this season and broke their lowest round by five strokes.
The Kalamazoo Country Club was the setting for the fourth jamboree and three Bulldogs finished in the top six. Nick Hocker placed third with a round of one-over par 72. Cameron McKee tied for fourth with a two-over par 73. Jordan Juday had his best round so far this fall with a four-over par 75 and tied for sixth. Zak Hart tied for 18th with a score of 78 to round out the team scoring for Adrian.
"I am very happy with the way we played today, "said head coach Ryan Williams. "Today was another step in the right direction to get to where we want to be. Most importantly I think we showed ourselves we can compete with any of the best teams in the MIAA, and that confidence will carry into more days like this. Adrian is sitting in fourth place in the conference standings with a team total of 1,221 strokes. They trail Calvin College by one stroke and Trine gained ground on Hope College for the top spot. Hope leads with 1,208 strokes and the Thunder trail by one stroke in second place.
