BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – There was little drama heading into the eighth and final MIAA Jamboree for the men's golf team. The Bulldogs came into the final 18 holes with a comfortable fourth place lead and secured a spot in the MIAA Spring 54-hole tournament with a fourth place finish on Tuesday (Oct. 7) with a team score of 312 at Bedford Valley Country Club.
The Trine University Thunder won the final Jamboree of the season hosted by Olivet College with a score of 297, but the Hope College Flying Dutchmen finished third with a 302, holding on to win the season championship by five strokes.
Hope's Collin Breit was the medalist for the final tournament with a 71, and was joined by three other teammates who shot 77's. One of the three, sophomore Winton Munch, won MIAA season medalist honors for the second consecutive year.
Calvin College finished second in the Jamboree with a team score of 299 followed by Hope and then the Bulldogs 10 strokes behind Hope. Brandon Skytta led the team placing 11th with a score of 76. Cameron McKee tied for 16th along with teammate Jordan Juday with a score of 78. Nick Hocker tied for 22nd tallying 80 strokes on his card. Zak Hart brought in an 88 and did not count towards the team score for the Bulldogs.
