Marshall, Mich. – The Adrian College men's golf team traveled to their first MIAA Jamboree on Wednesday. The Bulldogs struggled at the Medalist Golf Course, finishing sixth with a team score of 320. Sophomore Zak Hart led the team in the losing effort finishing tied for fourth with a plus three round of 75.
In addition to finishing with the top round for the team, Hart was able to finish second in par four scoring averaging even par on those holes. Hart along with fellow teammates freshmen Jack Stover and Andrew Skibski finished tied for third in total birdies with three apiece. Head Coach Ryan Williams was impressed with Hart's play, "Zak played very well, I was happy to see him put a solid round together, I think he matured a lot over the summer and it showed on a tough test today."
While the result wasn't what Coach Williams hoped for the message wasn't all negative, "The Medalist is one of the toughest courses we play on all year and with such a young group I expected to have a few growing plains and today was just that. It will be important to bounce back from the poor result we had today, but there are some bright spots to draw upon and plenty of lessons learned."
The Bulldogs will look to bounce back as they travel to The Bedford Valley Golf Course in Battle Creek, Mich. next Tuesday, September 15 to compete in the second MIAA Jamboree, time set for 1 p.m.
