Adrian College Men’s Golf Struggles, Finishes Sixth in Second MIAA Jamboree

Battle Creek, Mich. – The Adrian College men's golf team traveled to the Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek, Mich. to compete in their second conference competition of the season.  The team finished sixth out of eight teams present with a combined score of 319.

Senior Nick Hocker posted the low score for the Bulldogs with a one over round of 73.  Head Coach Ryan Williams was proud of his senior, "Nick played very well.  He bounced back from a bad round last week at Albion, and that's exactly what we needed from him."

Coach Williams's comments on the tournament as a whole were more sedate, but still positive, "The course played firm and fast yesterday, there were some tough pins and the wind was up a bit.  We just didn't handle the conditions as well as I had hoped.  That's going to happen with a young team.  But I think we are getting there.  We just need to put it all together. Like I said before, there will be growing pains, we just need to find that bounce in our step."

The Bulldogs will next compete at the third MIAA Jamboree of the year when they travel to Alma, Mich. to face the Pine River Golf Course on Saturday September 19, where they will start at 1 p.m.
