Alma, Mich. - The Adrian College men's golf team traveled to the Pine River Country Club to compete in their third MIAA Jamboree. The Bulldogs' combined score of 308 was good enough for a fifth place finish.
Adrian was led in the tournament by sophomore Zak Hart. Hart played extremely well finishing with the fourth lowest individual score with an even par (72). Senior Nick Hocker also scored well finishing with a top ten score of two over par (74).
Head Coach Ryan Williams was happy with his teams performance, "Overall, I think we played pretty well as a team on Saturday. Our older leaders stepped up and played well, and we were right in the mix with the top tier teams in the conference."
The Bulldogs were certainly in the mix as a log jam at the top of the team standings developed in the tournament. Adrinan's team combined score was only ten strokes behind Hope College who won the tournmant with a 298 score.
Coach Williams went on to say, "Once we get more consistency across the line-up is when we will start finishing Jamborees the way we want, and the way we know we can. And we will put it all together, and that's when the guys will realize the potential we have."
The Bulldogs will have a chance to do just that on Monday September 21 at 1:00 p.m. when they travel to the Kalamazoo Country Club in Kalamazoo, Michigan for the fourth MIAA Jamboree of the season.
