WOOSTER, Ohio--Adrian College Men's Golf placed 10th out of 11 schools at the College of Wooster Nye Intercollegiate Tournament over the weekend, which was cut short due to lightning on Sunday. The Bulldogs played through the final 18 holes today, but were credited with a 169 score officially to add to a 312 in Saturday's opening round for a team total of 481.
Leading the Adrian lineup was sophomore Brett McGugan who shot a 75+41=116 for a 23rd-place tie out of 60 student-athletes. Rounding out the lineup were sophomores Noah Kosal (78+43=121, T-43rd), Hayden Winch (79+43=122, 45th), senior Andrew Skibski (81+42=123, 46th) and freshman Jackson Tellerico (80+44=124, T-47th).
Denison, Kenyon and Thomas More had a few holes remaining to complete, but the weather conditions continued to worsen with lightning. So all teams, like Adrian, that contested 18 holes today had their scores revert back to nine holes counted toward Sunday's round and their final two-day score. Denison, Kenyon and Thomas More also played nine holes today.
Denison University (294+143=437) won the team title. The Big Red's Ben Scherman (72+36=108) and Roni Shin (74+34=108) of Baldwin Wallace tied for medalist accolades.
Adrian heads to Grand Rapids, Mich., on Tuesday (noon) for the Calvin College Knights Invitational at The Golf Club at Thornapple Pointe.
