Colorado native Aaron Bain is in his second season as the head coach of the American Collegiate Hockey Association Division 2 men's team at Adrian College.
Previously, he coached for five years at ACHA Division III Colorado State University in Fort Collins, qualifying for the national tournament as the No. 1 or 2 seed out of the Pacific Region each season during his tenure. Bain has been awarded ACHA Division 3 Pacific Coach of the Year twice (2014-15, '15-16) and was the organization's national coach of the Year in Division 3 for the 2014-15 campaign.
During his 2017-18 first year at the Bulldogs helm, Bain led Adrian to a 16-8-1 mark, an ACHA Central Regional Tournament championship, and appearance in the ACHA national tournament.
Bain's other coaching experience includes serving as an assistant for the 2016-17 ACHA Division 3 Select Team during its tour of Europe as well as on the staffs for Colorado High School Charter and USA Hockey Tier II U-18 squad. He helped both programs make appearances in their respective national tournaments.
Bain spent time playing junior hockey in Alberta, Canada, and New Hampshire while preparing for his college career. He served as team captain in his final two years at his alma mater, Colorado State.
He earned his bachelor's degree in health and exercise science with a concentration in health promotion that focused on strength and athletic performance coaching.
"I am excited for the opportunity to join the Adrian College staff and contribute to the growth and success (of our athletics program)," Bain said about his hiring.
