ADRIAN, Mich. – The conclusion to the weekend series with Northland College ended on a high note for the men's hockey team as they defeated the LumberJacks 8-2 on Saturday afternoon at Arrington Ice Arena. Junior forward Zach Graham had a goal and tied a career-high with four assists to lead the offense. Senior defenseman Chris Stansik also made a splash with a goal and assist which tied him with former teammate Quinn Waller for the most points by a defenseman in MCHA history (87).
James Hamby picked up his first win in net as a Bulldog making 32 saves including 15 in the second period. Adrian outshot Northland 48-34 including a 23-10 edge in the first period. The Bulldogs opened up a 3-0 lead after the first period. Lukas Ciotti scored his first goal of the season at even strength at 10:51. Graham scored the team's second goal at 16:24 from Zach Wilson for his third goal of the season. Dan Barczuk scored his second goal of the year with an assist from Graham just 14 seconds apart.
Josh Cousineau scored on the power play for his first goal of the season at 9:08 of the second period with assists from Graham and Stansik. Adrian increased their lead to 5-0 as Shelby Gray scored his first of the season with assists from Barczuk and Graham.
Cousineau's second of the day at even strength from Jordan Watts and Kevin Balas made the score 6-1 at the 18:26 mark of the second. Stansik scored his first goal of the season to tie the career MCHA point record by a defenseman on the power play at 3:40 of the third with Graham's fourth assist of the game. Barczuk added another goal at 12:09 with another assist from Wilson to end the scoring for Adrian.
