CEDARBURG, Wis. – Two third period goals were the difference as the Adrian College men's hockey team won 5-3 over Concordia University (Wis.) inside Ozaukee Ice Center today (Dec. 3). Bulldogs (8-3-0, 7-1-0 MCHA) stay a perfect 20-0 in the all-time series against the Falcons (1-9-2, 1-6-1 MCHA).
Adrian took a commanding 3-0 left after the first period courtesy of two goals by freshman Josh Ranalli (3:26 and 14:11) and one by senior Jordan Watts (9:07). Freshman Rob Heat was in on the assist in the first goal, junior Zach Graham and senior Chris Stansik earned the assists on the second, and junior Dan Barczuk and freshman Rob Heat were in on the third score. Ranalli has now scored multiple goals in three contests in his inaugural campaign. With his score, Watts leads the team with nine goals on the year.
Just like the Bulldogs controlled the first period, the Falcons owned the second with three unanswered scores to tie it 3-3 heading in the final period.
In between the pipes for Adrian, freshman James Hamby (4-1) played in all 60 minutes and gathered in 28 saves.
For the game, Adrian out-shot the Falcons 54-31. Both teams were not effective with power play opportunities as the Bulldogs went 0-for-6 and Concordia went 1-for-8.
Adrian will take a 26-day break before it travels to Wis.-Stevens Point Friday, December 30. First faceoff is set for 8:00 p.m.
