ADRIAN, Mich. – Shaquille Merasty for the second time this season has been named the Midwest Collegiate Athletic Association Freshman of the Week for his two-goal performance against Saint Mary's last Saturday.
Merasty scored to tie the game at 1-1 with his eighth of the season in the first period, and then capped off the scoring with his ninth of the year in the third period, as the Bulldogs went on to beat the Cardinals, 7-3.
In addition to leading the MCHA in freshman goals and points, the Minnedosa, Minnesota native leads all freshmen nationally in points per game (1.71) and is third in the nation in goals per game (1.29) in Division III NCAA hockey.
