Appleton, Wis. – The Adrian College men's hockey team (12-1-2, 8-0-2) remained undefeated in Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association play and for the second time in as many nights, tied Lawrence University (5-8-2, 4-4-2). This time it was a 4-4 score and produced the team's first ever back-to-back tied contests.
Both teams scored early with the Vikings getting on the board two minutes into the game. It took Adrian's Andrew Dovey just 43 seconds to respond and tie the game at 1, and would extend his goal-scoring streak to four games with his eighth of the year. Zach Graham and Grant Tefler would assist.
Lawrence would take the lead again about six minutes into the contest before Adrian would once again respond about a minute later. Ryan Gieseler would score from Dovey and Graham on the power play. It would be his third of the year and second in as many nights.
The first period scoring would end with the Vikings taking a 3-2 lead after about eight minutes of play.
The Bulldogs power play would strike again once the second period began. Chris Leone scored his fourth goal of the year from Lukas Ciotti to tie the game again, this time at 3-3. Adrian would go 2-for-5 on the night on the power play.
It would take a Lawrence power play to tie the game with less than four minutes to play at 4-4, and neither team would score in the overtime session. The Bulldogs peppered the Lawrence net in overtime and outshot the Vikings 8-2.
Graham would lead the Bulldogs with three helpers, while Dovey would add a goal and an assist.
