MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The men's hockey team (15-1-2, 11-0-2) remained undefeated in Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association play with a 2-1 win over the Milwaukee School of Engineering (11-6-1, 8-4-1), Friday night at the Kern Center.
Josh Cousineau's second goal of the game broke a 1-1 third-period tie to lead Adrian over the Raiders. Four minutes into the third period, Cousineau would register his sixth goal of the season on the power play and the Bulldogs would not look back.
MSOE would strike first when Jordan Keizer would score midway through the second period to stake the Raiders to a 1-0 lead.
With less than three minutes remaining in the second period, Cousineau would tie the game on a goal from Kyle Gallinger and Sam Nyberg. Cousineau would lead all Bulldog shooters with four on the night.
The Raiders would receive a major penalty early in the third period and Adrian would capitalize for the eventual game-winner. Zach Graham and Shelby Gray each registered an assist on the deciding goal.
Scott Shackell kept the Bulldogs in the game, turning aside 32 shots. The Raiders doubled Adrian's shots in the final two periods, but could only get one by Shackell, who beat MSOE for the third time this season.
Tomorrow's 4 p.m. (ET) game against the Raiders will be the last regular season matchup between last year's Harris Cup finalists.
