MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The Adrian College men's hockey team has received their highest regular season national ranking in this week's USCHO.com Division III Poll. The Bulldogs check in at No. 2 with an overall record of 10-0-1 and have two first-place votes, trailing Plattsburgh for the No. 1 spot. Plattsburgh has 294 poll points and 16 first-place votes with an overall record of 9-0-2.
There were a few shakeups in this week's poll after current No. 3 St. Norbert (10-2) and No. 4 UW-Stevens Point (9-1) both lost on Saturday. St. Norbert fell to Lawrence and UW-Stevens Point was downed by UW-Stout. Both of those teams also received one first-place vote.
The Bulldogs are one of three teams without a loss in the top 15 this week. No. 8 Williams is the other unbeaten squad with a 5-0-2 record and moved up one spot this week. Adrian has one win this season against a member of the top 15 having defeated current No. 14 Geneseo State 5-1 on the road back on Nov. 19. Adrian is off through the holiday season and will be back on the ice on Friday, Jan. 3 at Buffalo State to start a weekend series with the Bengals.
