Shackell Named NCHA Defensive Player of the Week

WAUKESHA, Wis. - The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association has named senior goaltender Scott Shackell its Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season. Shackell gave up just one goal in two games, with each contest going the full distance of 65 minutes including overtime. He provided several timely saves in both games to assure the Bulldogs of at least a tie, making 22 saves in a 0-0 result against SUNY Geneseo and 28 stops in a 1-1 draw on the road against No. 3 River Falls. Shackell has a 1.83 goals-against average which currently ranks 13th in NCAA Division III. In addition, he ranks 11th with a .935 save percentage while posting an 8-0-2 record with a pair of shutouts.
