LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Adrian College men's hockey team wrapped up the regular season on Saturday with a 6-2 road win at Lake Forest. The Bulldogs finish the regular season with an overall record of 19-3-3 and were 16-1-1 in the NCHA. The game flow was very similar to last night's contest where Adrian trailed by a goal after the first period. This game saw Lake Forest lead 2-1 after 20 minutes with an 8-6 edge in shots on goal. Duston Hebebrand got Adrian ahead 1-0 at 4:09 on his 10th of the season from Kevin Balas. The Foresters answered at 11:01 as Luke Swardenski scored his 13th of the season and then took the lead at 16:52 as Mcauley Banning scored his second of the season from Jason McAloon.
Josh Ranalli tied the game at 2-2 just 38 seconds into the second period unassisted and then Hebebrand scored the game-winner at 11:25 with assists from Ryan Gieseler and Micki Mihailovich. Ranalli's second of the game at 19:41 made it 5-2 and then Ryan Lowe scored just 12 seconds later and with seven seconds left in the second period. Lowe's goal was his seventh of the season from Mathew Thompson and Ranalli. Austin Hervey scored the lone goal of the third at 5:13 from Daniel Lisi.
James Hamby picked up his second win this weekend between the pipes making 22 saves. Leo Podolsky lasted just two periods for the Foresters in net making 19 saves but allowing five goals. For Adrian, all 12 goals they scored this weekend came at even strength. Adrian went 0-for-4 on the power play while LFC was 0-for-3.
