BLOOMINGTON, Minn.--For the third time this season, Adrian College has landed two student-athletes at the same time on the D3hockey.com National Team of the Week. The Bulldogs current representatives for the period ending Sunday are freshmen Cory Dunn (Trenton, Mich./Austin Bruins, NAHL) and Bryan Yim (Farmington, Mich./New Jersey Hitmen, USPHL).
A right winger, Yim posted a record-setting performance in ONE night let alone during a WEEK. He tied an eight-year school record on Friday when he potted four goals in a 12-2 victory over Concordia University Wisconsin in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association South Division contest. He also added two assists versus the Falcons to finish with six points--tying the most by an Adrian skater since Eric Miller versus Lawrence University on Mar 5, 2011. The six points also ties a freshman single-game record at the school.
For the season, Yim has 12 goals and 17 assists for 29 total points in 23 games. His plus-24 rating leads all freshmen on the squad.
Dunn, a right defenseman, matched Yim with a team-leading six points during the Bulldogs' sweep of the CUW Falcons. In the six-goal victory, Dunn scored a goal and tied his career high with three assists and four points. In a 6-1 triumph on Saturday afternoon, he followed up with two assists. The five-assist total led the team during the weekend.
Dunn currently has scoring totals of 5+19=24 in 23 outings. He paces Adrian blueliners in point-scoring.
The nationally No. 3-ranked Bulldogs, who are second in the first NCAA Division III West Region ratings, bring records of 19-3-1 overall and 15-2-1 NCHA-S into their final weekend series of the regular season on Friday (8 p.m.) and Saturday (5 p.m.) at national No. 14/15 St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minn.
