BLOOMINGTON, Minn.--The Adrian College men's hockey tandem of sophomore defenseman Cory Dunn (Trenton, Mich. / Austin Bruins, NAHL) and freshman forward Vincent Paquette (Calgary, Alberta / Calgary Mustangs, AJHL) have been named to the D3hockey.com National Team of the Week, the website announced on Wednesday. Adrian was the only school with multiple winners this week.
Dunn led the Bulldogs with four assists and a plus-5 rating during a 1-0-1 week versus non-conference opponents. He registered three assists to tie a personal record in Adrian's 6-3 win Saturday over defending national champion Wisconsin-Stevens Point in a rematch of a 2016 national quarterfinal game. The finance major leads NCAA Division III blueliners with 1.50 points per game (4+8=12).
Paquette, who is a business major, had a breakout week for the Bulldogs who beat the then-No. 2 ranked Pointers by three goals and tied St. Thomas-Minn, 3-3. He led the Bulldogs' offense with five points and two goals on four shots, while contributing a plus-4 rating. He notched his first career multi-point game against UWSP with a goal and two assists. Then on Sunday, he extended his seven-game point-scoring streak with a goal and an assist versus the Tommies.
For Paquette, this marks his second weekly award for his trophy case as the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association recognized him as the offensive player of the week on Tuesday.
Dunn has been selected to the D3hockey TOW four times, dating to the 2015-16 season when he was a freshman.
