UTICA, N.Y.--National semifinalists Adrian College had two representatives on the CCM Division II/III All-America teams as selected by the American Hockey Coaches Association, which was announced Thursday evening at the 2017 NCAA Division III Men's Ice Hockey Championship© Banquet held at the Radisson.
Sophomore defenseman Cory Dunn (Trenton, Mich./Austin Bruins, NAHL) improves on his 2016 second-team nod with CCM/AHCA First Team accolades this season, while classmate and left wing Trevor Boyd (Muskegon, Mich./Austin Bruins, NAHL) reaps his first All-America citation on the second team.
Dunn is a two-time All-Northern Collegiate Hockey Association standout who leads the NCHA in scoring with career highs of nine goals, 27 assists and 36 total points. He ranks second among NCAA Division III blueliners in point-scoring. Eight of his nine goals have come on the power-play.
Boyd tops the team with career bests of 18 goals and 35 points (16 and 29 as a 2016 freshman) and he is second in NCHA point-scoring. The finance major also tops Adrian with 109 shots on goal and owns a plus-15 rating. Boyd is an All-NCHA and Academic All-NCHA pick this winter.
The duo brings to 13 the number of Bulldogs who have been accorded AHCA All-America status a total of 16 times--all since the program's founding in 2007-08.
Adrian will take on top-seeded Norwich University in the second semifinal game of the NCAA Tournament at 6:30 p.m. Friday. Complete details here.
