Top-10 of 2015-16: At #2, Adrian is only NCAA Division III School to Claim all Four Conference Hockey Titles

ADRIAN, Mich.--For the rest of this week, will count down the top-two Adrian College Athletics stories from the 2015-16 academic year. Thanks to our visitors for submitting nominations on our Facebook, Twitter pages and via email. So without further ado, drumroll please....

The No. 2 entry on our countdown is NCAA men's and women's hockey both sweeping Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) regular-season and tournament championships, as Adrian was the only NCAA Division III school to accomplish the feat. (Two Division I schools also claimed four hockey conference titles, men's and women's.)

The Bulldogs women's squad clipped Lake Forest College by two points for their second straight Kronschnabel Trophy as the NCHA regular-season winner, and then shut out St. Norbert College, 2-0, to capture their first Slaats Cup tournament crown since 2011.

The milestones didn't stop there as the team finished the season in the top-5 of the national polls, produced three All-Americans, hosted an NCAA tournament game for the first time (making the field for the second time in five years), and set school records for victories (25-3-1) and highest national ranking (No. 2, No. 2

On the men's side, Adrian won its eighth Peters Cup and seventh Harris Cup titles in its nine years of existence. The Bulldogs also made the NCAA Tournament for the fourth year in a row and sixth time overall. Adrian finished fourth in the national rankings, 24-4-1 overall and 17-2-1 in the NCHA-South Division, while spending several weeks at No. 1 in the polls.

All told, the Bulldog men produced a pair of All-Americans and 11 all-conference and academic all-conference performers.
