Host Wisconsin-Stevens Point Shuts Down Potent Adrian College Offense, 4-1

STEVENS POINT, Wis.--Wisconsin-Stevens Point built a 4-0 lead on the way to a 4-1 non-conference victory over the visiting Adrian College Bulldogs, sweeping the two-game midweek series of NCAA Division III men's hockey perennial powers.

= Junior Bryan Yim scored Adrian's lone goal. Yim also led all skaters with six shots on goal.

= Junior starter Kevin Entmaa (14 saves) and freshman back-up goalie Nikita Babintsev (13, 1) combined to make 27 saves. 

= Junior Connor Armour went 11-for-18 on face-offs, had three shots and a plus-1 rating.

= Max Milosek improved to 7-3-2 in goal on the season after making 35 saves.

= Luke McElhenie scored two goals. He matched Yim with six shots.

= Steven Quagliata, Willem Nong-Lambert and Tanner Karty all chipped in two assists.

= UWSP held leads of 2-0 after the first period and 4-0 after 40 minutes. 

= The Pointers went 2-for-6 on power-plays and killed off Adrian's three extra-man opportunities.

= Carter Roo scored his fourth goal of the season after 2 minutes and 24 seconds from the opening face-off for a 1-0 UWSP advantage.

= Yim took a feed from junior Trevor Boyd at the 14:21 mark of the third period to avert the shutout for the Bulldogs.

= Adrian kept the offensive pressure on the UWSP defense in the final stanza, outshooting the Pointers 17-4.

= Adrian owns the fourth-best offense in NCAA Division III with 4.55 goals per game.

= UWSP leads the all-time series against the Bulldogs, 8-6-1. Before this week, Adrian defeated the Pointers in last year's NCAA Quarterfinals, 6-3 in Wisconsin, when they were the defending national champions.

= The Bulldogs have not been shut out since the 2014-15 season--a span of 82 games.

= Adrian will break for the Christmas holiday before traveling to Boston for the 53rd annual Codfish Bowl at UMASS-Boston, where they will play Salve Regina on Friday, Dec. 29 and either the host Beacons or Williams on Saturday, Dec. 30.
