Men's Lacrosse Picked to Finish First in MLC

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - After a 15-3 (8-0 MLC) season last year, the Midwest Lacrosse Conference Head Coaches have picked Adrian College to defend their conference title from a year ago. Adrian received eight of the 10 first-place votes, edging out Carthage in second and Aurora in third. The Bulldogs return three First-Team All-MLC players from a season ago, as well as three Honorable Mention MLC selections.

The Bulldogs return senior David Monroe, a First-Team MLC pick last year. Monroe is coming off a season in which he scored 77 points on 45 goals, which was good enough for second in the MLC. Also returning for the Bulldogs were First-Team MLC selections junior defensemen Brandon MacDonald as well as senior midfielder Mitch Barnard

The three returning Honorable Mention All-MLC picks from last year are senior attack T.J. Cook, senior midfielder Ryan Werhane, and sophomore goalie Matthew Neal.

After winning the conference last season, the team lost 8-7 in overtime of the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Bulldogs look to make it back to the NCAA Tournament this season under first-year Head Coach Don LaSala, who comes to Adrian after serving as an Assistant at Clarkson University.

The first game for the Bulldogs will be at the University of Tennessee to take on Birmingham Southern on Feb. 27th. The first home game for the Bulldogs will fall on March 4th, as they will take on MLC opponent Mt. St. Joseph.
