SALEM, Va. - The Adrian Men's Lacrosse team started out hot against one of the nation's best teams, but ultimately fell at #10 Roanoke, 16-7. The Bulldogs and the Maroons were tied 3-3 after the first quarter, but Roanoke was too much to handle the rest of the game, out-scoring the Bulldogs 8-2 in the second half.
Junior Midfielder Coady Adamson scored two goals and added an assist for the 1-1 Bulldogs. Junior John Hudzinski also scored two goals for Adrian while senior Mitch Barnard led the Bulldogs with eight ground balls. Sophomore Kevin Lerg managed to save 17 shots, but did give up 16 goals on the day. For the game, the Bulldogs were outshot 49-31.
Adrian's trouble started in the second half, when they failed to score in the third period, while Roanoke scored two goals. In the fourth, the Maroons tripled up the Bulldogs in the scoring column, 6-2. The Bulldogs had 31 turnovers on the game while the Maroons only had 18.
The game concludes the two-game spring break trip for Adrian, as they won the first game on the trip, 13-8, over Birmingham Southern. The next game for the Bulldogs will be a home one as Mt. St. Joseph travels to Adrian for a 4 pm game on Sunday, March 4th.
