NAPERVILLE, Ill. -The Midwest Lacrosse Conference (MLC) has announced its players of the week and Adrian College's Brandon MacDonald has earned Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts. MacDonald, who is earning the honors for the first time in his career, gets the nod for the period of games played March 5-12.
MacDonald, a junior defender from Midhurst, Ontario, and Eastview Secondary School, helped anchor a Bulldog defense that gave up only six goals during two wins last week. The Marketing Major finished with four ground balls and two caused turnovers during a 10-3 win over Oberlin on Thursday. MacDonald also had a caused turnover in a 13-3 win over Concordia (Wis.) on Sunday. The victory was Adrian's second win in conference play this season.
A year ago, MacDonald was a selection for 1st team All-MLC. This is the second Bulldog this year to earn MLC Player of the Week honors as sophomore Kevin Lerg received MLC Player of the Week last week. Currently, the Bulldogs sit at 4-1 (2-0 MLC) and are winners of three straight.
