SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - Cody Kilcoyne and the Adrian Men's Lacrosse team found its way to victory in the second overtime as the Bulldogs knocked off Wittenberg on the road, 12-11. The sophomore Kilcoyne's second goal, which came with 44 seconds left in the second overtime, proved to be the difference maker as the Bulldogs improve to 6-1 (2-0 MLC) for the non-conference victory.

The Bulldogs held a healthy 3-0 lead just five minutes into the first quarter, as Coady Adamson scored once and John Hudzinski scored twice, with Kilcoyne adding two assists. Wittenberg rallied, scoring the next three goals, as the Bulldogs went into the locker room at halftime with a 6-4 lead.

With less than five minutes left in the 4th quarter and the Bulldogs holding an 11-8 lead, Wittenberg again got hot, scoring three goals in the final 4:02 to force overtime. Both teams went scoreless in the first overtime, but Kilcoyne's unassisted goal in the second overtime sealed the deal for the Bulldogs.

Hudzinski led the Bulldogs in the scoring column with four goals on the afternoon. T.J. Cook, along with Adamson and Kilcoyne all added two goals for the game.

Sophomore Kevin Lerg got the win in the goal for the Bulldogs, improving his record to 6-1. Lerg saved 11 shots while allowing 11 goals.

The Bulldogs had a big advantage in ground balls, beating out the Tigers 37-22. Adrian also held an advantage in face-offs, winning 18 of 28 on the afternoon.

It will be five days off for Adrian now, as they will play host to MLC opponent Hanover on Friday, March 30th. The game will start under the lights at 7 pm from Performance Stadium.
