ADRIAN, Mich. - Seven goals in the first period and five in the second was all it took for Adrian, as the Bulldogs shutout the Albion Britons to improve to 8-1 (4-0 MLC). The 12-0 win was the first time in the history of Adrian Lacrosse that the Bulldogs completely shutout an opponent.
Six different Bulldogs scored goals in the first period, as David Monroe scored two first period goals. A.J. Smith started the scoring for Adrian, as the Bulldogs had a span in the first period of four goals in a minute and 31 seconds.
John Hudzinski led the scoring for the Bulldogs, scoring three goals and adding one assist. Monroe added three assists to his two goals, while causing three turnovers.
The Bulldogs had a huge advantage in the nets, as Kevin Lerg saved the three shots on goal Albion had in the first half, before being replaced by Matthew Neal in the second half. Neal started right where Lerg left off, saving all five Briton shots in the second half.
Adrian went 20-for-24 in clear opportunities, while out-shooting Albion 40-12. The Bulldogs turned the ball over 16 times while Albion surrendered 26 turnovers.
The next game for Adrian will be on Saturday, as Aurora travels to Adrian for a noon contest as the Spartans enter the game with the Bulldogs at 6-2 (2-0 MLC).
