NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Two wins result in two MLC Players of the Week for the Adrian Men's Lacrosse team as John Hudzinski and Mitch Barnard were honored with the award for the period of games played April 2-9. During the week, Adrian beat Albion 12-0 on April 4, then came back to outlast Aurora 8-7 on April 7.
Hudzinski, a junior attacker from Blaine, Minn. (Centennial High School) finished with seven goals, one assist and five ground balls as the Bulldogs finished the week 2-0 in MLC play. The biology major had four goals and three ground balls in the 8-7 win over Aurora. Three days earlier, Hudzinski tallied three goals, one assist and two ground balls in a 12-0 win over Albion.
Barnard, a senior midfielder from Springwater Township, Ontario (Eastview Secondary School) won 72 percent of his faceoffs during the Bulldogs two wins last week. The pilosophy and psychology major was 15-of-19 on faceoffs, along with six ground balls against Aurora. He was also 14-of-16 on faceoffs with eight ground balls and one goal against Albion.
The Bulldogs are now 9-1 (6-0 MLC) on the season and will begin a streak of five consecutive road games on Wednesday, as Adrian will travel to Kenyon to take on the 7-2 Lords.
