NAPERVILLE, Ill. -The Adrian Men's Lacrosse team was honored as senior attacker David Monroe was named the Midwest Lacrosse Conference (MLC) Player of the Week. Monroe is the fourth Bulldog to earn the honors this season, as John Hudzinski, Mitch Barnard, and Brandon MacDonald also have been named MLC Player of the Week this year.
Monroe, a senior attacker from Ann Arbor, Mich., and Huron High School (Business major), helped the Bulldogs go 3-0 last week including a 2-0 showing against Midwest Lacrosse Conference opponents. He started the week scoring three goals and two assists in an 11-4 win over Kenyon on April 11. Monroe followed that performance with four goals and two assists, along with one ground ball, during a 13-7 win over Carthage on April 14. He also added a goal in a 17-2 win against the Milwaukee School of Engineering on April 15.
Currently, Monroe is helping the Bulldogs have another stellar season, as Adrian is 12-1 (7-0 MLC) and are winners of 11 straight games. Adrian will travel to Trine Wednesday for a 7:00 p.m. game with the Thunder.
