ANGOLA, Ind. - It didn't take long for the Bulldogs of Adrian to take control of Trine in a game which clinched the MLC regular-season title for Adrian. The Bulldogs scored four first quarter goals and held a 6-1 halftime lead as Adrian is now 13-1 (8-0 MLC) with two games remaining.
Coady Adamson got the scoring started, finding the net from David Monroe at the 12:50 mark in the first quarter. The Bulldogs kept it going as T.J. Cook scored a goal from Monroe just over a minute later, then John Hudzinski scored from Marcus Rosetter at the 10:04 mark in the first to make the score 3-0.
Seven minutes after the Hudzinski goal, Monroe found Tom Theielman who scored, making the score 4-0 on goals from four different Bulldogs.
Trine finally broke goalie Kevin Lerg in the second quarter, as Adam Martin of Trine found the net for the lone Thunder goal of the half. Trine was able to score two more goals on Lerg in the second half, but it didn't matter as the game was already out of reach. Lerg had a typical Lerg performance in the nets, saving eight shots while only allowing three goals.
Adamson led the Bulldogs in goals with three while Monroe added two goals and four assists. Hudzinski added two goals while scooping up seven ground balls.
The win marked the 12th straight victory for Adrian, which is a new school record. The Bulldogs have two regular-season games left before the MLC tournament. Adrian travels to Fontbonne Saturday for a game with the 6-7 (2-4) Griffins. The home finale for the Bulldogs will be on Friday, April 27th as Otterbein comes to town for a 5:00 p.m. game.
