SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Adrian College men's lacrosse team fell 10-8 on a neutral site field at Le Moyne College against Oswego State on Saturday afternoon to even their record at 2-2 this season.
Oswego State outshot Adrian 48-20 for the contest including 26-6 in the second half. Oswego State also had a big advantage in faceoffs going 17-of-22. The Lakers went 3-for-7 in man-up chances and Adrian did have a single attempt.
Despite those lopsided stats, Adrian led 8-7 early in the fourth quarter after Mitch Burgin scored with 12:58 left. That would be Adrian's last goal however as the Lakers closed out the game with three straight goals. The game-winner came with 7:50 left off the stick of Connor Khammar unassisted. Chris Porten added an insurance goal with 22 seconds to play.
Kevin Lerg made 18 saves keeping his team in the game. Tom Thielman and Burgin each had two goals to lead the team. John Hudzinski had a goal and assist with four shots on net. Drake Dailey-Chwalibog had a goal and two assists.
