Bulldogs double Hope in MIAA Semifinals, 24-12

ADRIAN, Mich. – The men's lacrosse team (12-3) crushed Hope College (8-5) in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Tournament semifinal matchup Thursday afternoon and will advance to the championship game this Saturday against Albion College with a 2 p.m. faceoff at Performance Stadium.

Thirty-nine of Adrian's 59 shots were on net and the Bulldogs won the ground game with a 40-20 edge in groundballs.

Eleven different Bulldogs scored led by Cody Kilcoyne's five goals. John Hudzinski and Tom Thielman had four each, while Mitch Burgin added three and Connor Ryan netted a pair.

Nathan Carroll, Drake Dailey-Chwalibog, Nicholas Frontczak, A.J. Smith, Jeff Ulfig and Nick Levanti rounded out the scoring with single tallies.

Kilcoyne and Hudzinski led the team in overall scoring with 10 and eight points, respectively. Burgin had a seven-point outing.

The Bulldogs were up 13-4 at the half before adding another seven goals in the third quarter and four in the final frame.

Goalkeeper Kevin Lerg registered seven saves in the cage in recording his 11th win of the season.

Zach Kozlowski had six groundballs to lead Adrian. Peter Treppa and Frank Badalamenti had four groundballs apiece.
