ADRIAN, Mich. - Senior goalkeeper Kevin Lerg (Farmington Hills, Mich./Detroit Catholic Central) and juniors A.J. Smith (Holland, Mich./West Ottawa) and Brandon Parnham (Orillia, Ont./Orillia District) have been named tri-captains for the upcoming 2014 men's lacrosse season announced by head coach Don LaSala. The Bulldogs are fresh off their second NCAA Tournament appearance and won their first NCAA Tournament game last spring. Adrian posted a 14-4 overall record and won the inaugural Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) title with a 6-0 conference record. The Bulldogs also won the conference tournament with wins at home over Hope and Albion.
Lerg is a full-time, two-year starter for the Bulldogs and has appeared in 44 career games. He has a 7.95 goals-against average and .539 save percentage in his career. He ranks first in school history with 31 wins and 338 saves. In 2013, Lerg posted a 13-4 record in net and made 151 saves.
Smith is a midfielder who has been a two-year letterman for the Bulldogs appearing in 30 career contests. He has 10 goals and 12 assists during his career at Adrian. Parnham plays defense for the Bulldogs and appeared in 16 games a year ago with 14 ground balls and six caused turnovers. The Bulldogs will start their season on Feb. 26 at Aurora (Ill.).
