FREELAND, Mich. – The Adrian College men's lacrosse team has been selected second in this year's Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) preseason poll. The two-time defending champion Bulldogs received three first-place votes and nine poll points. The league's head coaches have selected Albion College as the preseason favorite with four first-place votes and eight poll points.
Preseason Poll Results (first place votes in parenthesis): 1. Albion (4) 8 pts. 2. Adrian (3) 9. 3. Hope 18. 4. Trine 20. 5. Olivet 25. 6. Alma 33. 7. Calvin 34.
First-year head coach Scott Morrison has a brief but stunning history to uphold. The Bulldogs have been a member of a conference the last five years, including two in the MIAA, and have yet to lose a regular season contest, going 35-0. The Bulldogs return the reigning MIAA Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year in Eric Fannell and Brandon Parnham. Fannell scored 52 goals and added 20 assists for a team that went 13-3 overall in 2014. Parnham caused 15 turnovers and scooped up 18 ground balls for a defense that allowed a shade over eight goals per game last year.
