ADRIAN, Mich. - The men's lacrosse team ran into a talented Brockport State squad on Saturday afternoon and fell 18-4 to the Golden Eagles. Brockport came out firing with two goals in the first 1:25 including a man-up tally by John Countryman. Nick Karapas cut the lead to 2-1 at the 8:16 mark and then Brockport State scored the next three goals to extend their lead to 5-1. Countryman had another man-up goal and Nick Ciampi scored with 2:37 left in the opening quarter. Adrian got the next two goals by Mitch Burgin and Doug Boyd and then Justin Cook scored the sixth goal of the quarter for Brockport State as time expired for a 6-3 lead after one quarter.
The Golden Eagles seized control of the game in the second quarter outscoring the Bulldogs 5-0 to take an 11-3 lead into halftime. Marcus Palvino scored three times in the second and Countryman added another goal with 58 seconds left until intermission. Brockport State scored all six goals in the third quarter and the first goal of the fourth. Justin Cook had three consecutive goals in the period and Countryman added his fourth of the game. Adrian scored with 3:53 remaining as Brett Maguire found the net with an assist from A.J. Smith.
The Bulldogs won 7-of-25 face-offs during the contest and Brett Farrelly made seven saves for Adrian. Farrelly also scooped up three ground balls to lead the team.
